Sugiarto graduated with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Petra Christian University, Indonesia. Upon finishing his bachelor's degree, he worked as an embedded engineer in the biggest electronic manufacturer in Indonesia, namely Polytron Indonesia. After working for several years, he decided to pursue master's in electrical & computer engineering to deepen his skills and knowledge in area of wearable technologies. In the future, he aspires to innovate technologies to support the elderly daily life.
What I like about Rice/Houston:
I want to know more the Rice's notable research on biomedical fields and make meaningful connections with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. I am also excited to see the Rice campus and village and enjoy walking by street. Furthermore, Houston is the home of NASA's Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, one of the places I want to visit in Houston.
What I like about Fulbright:
I am excited to join the strong bounded Fulbright community that will allow me to learn new cultures and make great global professional connections. Apart from that, the Fulbright program offers many opportunities for students to experience the unique experiences that might not be experienced by ordinary graduate students.

Most people think he is an introvert, but he is an Extrovert and likes to meet new people. His friends describe him as funny, innovative, and creative. He also loves to explore new things that relate to technologies and foods. His hobbies include cooking, watching movies, jogging, and futsal.
