Program: Master of Energy Transition and Sustainability
Home Country: Argentina
Universities: Universidad Nacional Arturo Jauretche
Languages: Spanish, English
I am a Petroleum Engineer from Argentina with over two years of experience in the oil and gas industry, currently working as a Production Engineer at Pan American Energy in Chubut. My professional journey began at Universidad Nacional Arturo Jauretche, where I also played a key role in the Society of Petroleum Engineers Student Chapter. There, I developed leadership, teamwork, and communication skills that significantly shaped both my academic and professional growth.
Throughout my career, I have consistently pushed myself beyond my comfort zone to achieve academic and professional goals. Whether relocating to a remote oil field, participating in the International Petroleum Technology Conference in Saudi Arabia, or being selected for the Friends of Fulbright program in the United States, I have learned that stepping into new environments is crucial to success. This mindset is something I carry with me today and will bring with me during my time at Rice University.
My long-term goal is to make a meaningful contribution to Argentina’s energy transition by combining technical expertise with strategic insights. I am particularly interested in both renewable and non-renewable energy systems, critical minerals, project economics, and sustainability. Pursuing a Master of Science in Energy will allow me to gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies, methodologies, and global best practices—especially in the United States, where energy innovation is at the forefront.
I am eager to learn from a diverse academic environment and apply that experience to ongoing and future projects in Latin America. I believe the energy sector is evolving rapidly, and I aspire to be part of that transformation—not only as an engineer but as a leader prepared to take action.
What I like about Rice/Houston:
Rice has huge potential, located in the energy capital of the world
What I like about Fulbright:
The Friends of Fulbright program in 2021 allowed me to realize the vast possibilities for personal, academic, and professional growth. It was and continues to be an incredible combination for expanding in what I am passionate about, which is why I decided to apply again to Fulbright.
