I was born and raised in San Martín de los Andes, Neuquén Province, Argentina, an incredible town surrounded by mountains, lakes, forests, and volcanoes. As I grew up there, I developed a passion for nature while doing all kinds of outdoor activities, such as skiing, hiking, swimming, backpacking, and mountain biking, among others. That passion brought me to study geology at Universidad de Buenos, Argentina. I graduated in 2018 with a BSc in Geological Sciences. I did my thesis project in collaboration with YPF S.A., the national oil and gas company, studying the geology, particularly the structure of an area in Neuquén Basin, Argentina.

After graduating, I worked for four years as a corporate exploration geologist at Geopark, an oil and gas company, in several countries across Latin America. I had the fantastic opportunity to work analyzing and proposing exploration projects in 9 countries and over 30 basins. During those years, I also had the chance to participate in two scientific publications, as a principal author and coauthor, about oil and gas field exploration and development in southern Chile between 2020 and 2022. I also participated in internal reports conducted in Brazilian and Colombian basins. My last position in the company was as an Asset Exploration Leader in Llanos Basin, Colombia. In 2022, I left the company to pursue another goal, doing a Master’s Program related to critical and strategic resource exploration. I wanted to explore hydrocarbons and, most of all, critical and strategic minerals for the energy transition.

Some months later, I obtained a Fulbright Scholarship to study in the United States. In that order, I applied to the Energy Geoscience Professional Science Masters with a concentration in Energy Transition and Sustainability to pursue my professional aspirations of creating a resource exploration company. I am thrilled about the opportunity I obtained, so I look forward to doing my best at Rice University!

Fun Fact:

I am a cold-climate person, so wish me luck in Houston!
