I am an economist from Argentina and a Fulbright Scholar, driven to contribute to the energy transition and the design of policies that enable sustainable and resilient development. Over the past seven years, I have built my career at the intersection of public policy and the productive sector, currently serving as Executive Director at an industrial federation. In this role, I lead initiatives that support small and medium-sized enterprises and address key challenges for industrial competitiveness, including energy access, costs, and infrastructure.

Argentina’s growing role as a global supplier of shale oil and natural gas has strongly shaped my professional interests. In this context, I have worked with policymakers, industry leaders, and technical teams on issues related to energy regulation, infrastructure planning, and the impact of energy constraints on industrial activity. These experiences have reinforced my interest in how energy systems influence economic development and how effective policy design can support a more efficient and balanced transition.

I am particularly interested in the role of energy in enabling industrial transformation in emerging economies, especially in Latin America, where ensuring sustainability, affordability, and reliability remains a complex and pressing challenge. To deepen my analytical approach, I am currently expanding my training in applied economics and data analysis.

I am energized by tackling complex, real-world problems and by connecting diverse perspectives to build practical solutions. I thrive in collaborative environments and value engaging across disciplines and cultures.

On a personal note, I am a proud aunt, and spending time with my nephews is one of the most joyful and grounding parts of my life!

As a Fulbright Scholar, I look forward to strengthening my expertise in energy economics and contributing to the design of forward-looking, impactful energy policies.

What I like most about Rice/Houston

What attracts me most to Rice is its strong academic rigor combined with a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, which is ideal for studying energy economics. Houston, as a global energy hub, offers a unique setting to connect theory with practice. Being in a city where key decisions around oil, gas, and energy transition are taking place would provide invaluable real-world perspective.

What I like most about Fulbright

What I value most about the Fulbright program is its focus on exchange, collaboration, and impact. It brings together people committed not only to academic excellence but also to contributing to their communities. I especially appreciate its emphasis on dialogue across cultures, and the opportunity to gain knowledge and experiences that I can bring back to Argentina to strengthen public policy.

Fun Fact about me

Being an aunt to my nephews is one of the most fun and important parts of my life :) (I will miss them a lot!)
