Shruti is a Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Researcher from India. She majored in Physics at Lady Doak College and later moved to CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI), Tamil Nadu, India, for her doctoral studies. Her thesis on developing nanostructured composite cathodes, permselective separators, and ionic liquid-based hybrid electrolytes for lithium-sulfur batteries was conferred the 2020 Best Thesis Award in Physical Sciences by the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), India. Before joining Rice, she worked as a SERB-funded National Postdoctoral Fellow at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Thiruvananthapuram. Further, she continued her research on solid-state batteries as a Project Scientist during 2020-2024. She is ardently engaged in energy research, focussing on the design of electrodes and electrolytes for next-generation battery chemistries.
