I completed both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Theoretical Physics at PUC Chile. During my master studies, I developed a deep understanding of the importance of interdisciplinary research in addressing complex problems. This insight led me to transition from purely theoretical work to a more applied approach, one that inherently embraces interdisciplinarity.
In pursuit of this goal, I found the Applied Physics program to be the perfect platform for developing my skills and evolving into a cutting-edge researcher. This program offers the ideal environment for merging theoretical knowledge with practical applications, which is crucial for tackling real-world challenges.
As I embark on my PhD journey, I am determined to make these years some of the most enriching and transformative of my life. I am committed to leveraging the diverse and collaborative environment at Rice University to not only advance my own research but also contribute meaningfully to the scientific community.
On Rice and Houston:
What I love most about Rice is the strong sense of community. Everyone makes me feel welcome, and it's inspiring to see how different cultures come together to collaborate. I believe this diverse and inclusive enviroment is essential for the generation of knowledge.
On Fulbright:
I truly appreciate how the Fulbright program enables us to connect with people from all over the globe, fostering international understanding and helping us become global citizens.
