I was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador, where I did my bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering at Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ). During my undergrad, I studied abroad at Cornell University and researched various environmental topics such as air quality, ecology, and wastewater treatment. Before starting my master's at Rice, I worked on various projects related to environmental consulting, climate change, and sustainability for NGOs and the private sector in LATAM, the US, and Europe. I am currently doing an MSc in Environmental Engineering, researching smart materials to improve the safety and sustainability of water at Dr. Getachew Research Group.
