I am Gagan, from Bulandshahr district, situated between the Ganga and Yamuna rivers in northern India. I joined Rice in August 2023 as a Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellow with Prof. Pulickel M. Ajayan, Department of Materials Science and NanoEngineering. Currently, I'm doing my Postdoctoral research at Rice under an India-US collaboration project funded by AFRL, USA. I earned my Ph.D. from the Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, India. My research focuses on 2D TMDs and Nanohybrid thin films for flexible energy storage devices (Supercapacitors/Batteries) in wearable electronics. Previously, I did a part of my doctoral studies at the University of Surrey, England, UK, under the Commonwealth Split-site Scholarship program. I hold a bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Physics from the University of Delhi and a silver medal in Master’s in Physics from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur, India.
