I am Gagan, from Bulandshahr district, situated between the Ganga and Yamuna rivers in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh (UP). I joined Rice in August 2023 as a visiting Ph.D. 5th-year student as a Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellow with Prof. Pulickel M. Ajayan, Department of Materials Science and NanoEngineering. I am a Ph.D. candidate with Prof. Davinder Kaur under the DST-INSPIRE Fellowship program at the Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, India. My research focuses on 2D nanomaterial-based composite thin films for flexible energy storage devices (Supercapacitors/Batteries) for wearable electronics. Previously, I did a part of my PhD studies at the University of Surrey (England, United Kingdom) under the Commonwealth Split-site Scholarship program. I hold a bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Physics from Motilal Nehru College, University of Delhi, and a silver medalist in Master’s in Physics from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur. As a Fulbright Scholar, I work on lead-free and environmentally friendly energy storage technology for the next generation.
