Antonija Stojchevska is a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology, a degree acquired at the University “S.s Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje. During her final year of studies, Antonija volunteered at the Research Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology “Georgi D. Efremov” in the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

While attending university, she participated in many scientific conferences organized by the University Student Assembly at University “S.s. Cyril and Methodius” and the Macedonian Medical Students’ Association (MMSA). In addition, Antonija took part in youth exchanges and projects, where she discussed leadership, gender, and inclusivity. After completing her bachelor’s degree, Antonija started working as a molecular biologist in one of the most prominent clinics in North Macedonia, Zan Mitrev Clinic.

Moreover, while working at the clinic she was a part of the team that massively tested for SARS-CoV-2. Alongside her colleagues, Antonija detected the new strains of SARS-CoV-2 in the population and spread public awareness about this global pandemic. Following this she stepped into a teaching role at Yahya Kemal Elementary School for Natural Science and Chemistry. Antonija’s professional experiences, education, and volunteerism in molecular biology sparked an interest in pursuing a deeper understanding of bioengineering principles, which is why she has the ambition to acquire a master’s degree in this field.
