Program: Computational and Applied Mathematics
University: Lahore University of Management Sciences

I was born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan but my grandparents hail from the Hyderabad and Behar provinces from pre-partition India. I studied Math at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and graduated with a distinction and gold medal. I was also the only woman to receive a Mathematics degree that year! After that, I worked as a data analyst and not long after was shortlisted to receive the Fulbright Award. I’ve been interested in mathematical agriculture, ecology and geoscience and after I’m done with my Master's here, I would love to do a Ph.D. too! Aside from that, I love watching Avatar, reading books and speed-solving my cubes!

On Rice:

I love that the Rice mascot is an owl!

On Fulbright:

I love that Fulbright gives under-represented populations (like me – a young woman in STEM!) the opportunity to expand on their knowledge and skills with seasoned researchers in America!

Fun Fact:

I love pineapples on pizza!
