I belong to Sindh, also called The land of Sufis, Pakistan. This province of Pakistan has one of oldest civilizations, the Indus Civilization, and it is also known for hospitality, love, and interfaith harmony. My elders belong to a desert area, Thar, an area of living tradition and moved all the way to metropolitan cities to give their descedants a better life. I recognized my passion for STEM after my early schooling, and that made me choose engineering school for higher studies.

Back in 2016, my undergraduate thesis was focused on Graphene Oxide and its application which further motivated me to continue my education-cum-research in the Department of Metallurgy and Materials engineering at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro. I completed my degrees with top rank and with scholarships. Apart from studies, I lead the student-run chapter as Vice President and President consecutively. I also co-founded an academy in my hometown to promote STEM education to pupils from remote areas and organized several exhibitions to promote science.

My professional career began with the internships in reputable organizations, followed by a trainee position at a cable manufacturing company. I formally became part of academia back in 2019 when I joined Dawood University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi. I was seeking the best opportunity for my Ph.D. With hard work and luck I got a Fulbright Scholarship and decided to attend Rice University with the goal to learn more about Energy Materials.

On Rice:

Rice has a different vibe. I would say, it is a place where people from the whole world are woven together making it a different place.

On Fulbright:

Fulbright Program is a life-changing opportunity. I like the way it supports the students from beginning to end of the degree.
