I was born in Mexico City, where I also received my bachelor’s degree in international Relations from the national university (UNAM). After an exchange semester at Hanyang University in Seoul, I decided to go back for a master’s on International Studies at Ewha Womans University and a subsequent master on Public Management from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management, both in South Korea. After working in finance for a Korean company in Mexico, I went back to Asia, where I worked as a lecturer at Mongolia International University in Ulaanbaatar for two years prior to joining the Political Science department at Rice.

On Rice:

I am loving the strong community at Rice and look forward to being a full member of it. Also, so glad to finally being in the same time zone as (most of) Mexico.

On Fulbright:

Again, the strong sense of community and the feeling that I can always feel comfortable around likeminded people.

Fun Fact:

As a kid, I wanted nothing more than to be an Egyptologist.
