Salaar hails from Lahore, Pakistan, where he earned his Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering at the Lahore University of Management Sciences. During his undergraduate studies, he developed a deep passion for signal processing and its wide-ranging applications, especially in healthcare. Prior to pursuing his master's at Rice University, he gained valuable professional experience as a Research Officer at the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park, concentrating on the indigenous development of aerospace and radar technologies. He aspires to leverage his diverse background to pioneer innovative health-tech solutions.

Rice stands out for its exceptional academic programs and extensive research opportunities that nurture intellectual growth and exploration. I am also drawn to Rice's vibrant and tightly-knit community filled with passionate, ambitious and supportive individuals who encourage and thrive on collaboration and innovation. As for Houston, its cultural diversity and thriving art scene coupled with its welcoming and kind-hearted people are some of the many things I look forward during my time in the city.

The Fulbright community has some of the most brilliant people from around the world providing opportunities to not only grow academically, but also, immerse oneself in new cultures, exchange perspectives and foster lifelong friendships.
