I am Natalia Castano-Morales, I was born and raised in Pereira, one of the cities in the coffee region of Colombia. I studied a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and a M.A. in Human and Organizational Development Management at the Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira, Colombia. Throughout my professional career, I have been dedicated to the electric utility sector, operating primarily in two key regions within Colombia. I have developed expertise in strategic planning, performance management and project management. I am interested in topics related to energy transition, electric mobility and sustainability. I was part of the construction of the first EV public charging station in my region. In addition to my professional career, I am actively involved in various organizations, including ANEIAP (an association of industrial engineering students in Colombia) and Global Shapers (Pereira Hub), an initiative of The World Economic Forum. These engagements have provided me with invaluable opportunities for leadership development and impactful community involvement.

What I like about Rice/Houston:

What I find most exciting about Houston is its competitive business landscape, especially its connections with industry. Rice University is an example of active engagement with industry leaders through research partnerships, innovation initiatives, and talent development programs, ensuring that the city stays at the forefront of advancements.

What I like most about Fulbright is its commitment to fostering cultural exchange. Being part of the Fulbright program has provided me with invaluable opportunities to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, both within my host country and from around the world.
